Experienced Services Program National Park Service

Location: Landover, MD

The Center for Workforce Inclusion is recruiting for an Archivist position in the National Park Service’s (NPS) Experienced Services Program (ESP).  The program is designed to connect experienced workers, age 55 or older, with fulfilling and challenging opportunities at national parks and program offices that protect, conserve, and preserve our nation’s valuable natural, cultural, historical, and recreational resources.

This is a part-time position working at the National Park Service–National Capitol Area Museum Resource Center located at 3300 Hubbard Road, Landover, MD.

Assists with the operation of the research room and archives.  This includes but is not limited to:

  • Provide researcher assistance through developing and maintaining a reference room schedule, preparing records for viewing, scanning materials for remote researchers, and staffing the research room
  • Assist with development of processing plans, finding aids, and catalog/descriptions of archival collections or records groups

The successful candidate must be age 55 or older; possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; 15 years relevant experience in related field; Proficient in MS Office applications

Part‐time position working an average of 16 hours per week @ $35.00 per hour.
