Economic Recovery & Resilence for Older Workers

Our older community has been hit hard by COVID-19, both in terms of their health and their economic well-being. Our mission, to power economic opportunity for older workers, is more urgent than ever.

  • Nearly 1 in 5 low-wage workers are aged 50+ (Brookings Institute)
  • 51% of workers aged 50+ have no emergency savings. (AARP)
  • Older workers are highly vulnerable to layoffs in times of economic uncertainty and have more difficulty getting rehired at previous wages when displaced. (AARP)
  • 20.6 million workers 55+ are unable to work from home. (Economic Policy Institute)

We are providing immediate support to our partners and job seekers during these difficult times. But we must simultaneously look to the future. COVID-19 has underscored the vulnerability of our Nation’s older population, especially those in low-wage jobs.

Join Us & Create Solutions

Older workers will continue to face consequences long after the pandemic passes. There is little doubt that we need to innovate for an “after virus” future.

We launched our R2initiative to convene like-minded organizations who value workforce inclusion. Together, we will develop strategies and programs that address the needs of older workers in a post-COVID world.
