SSAI Awarded $7.5 Million from DOI

November 5, 2019

The Department of the Interior selected SSAI for a $7.5 million 5-year umbrella agreement

Senior Service America, Inc. (SSAI) has been selected by the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) to administer its Experienced Services Program (ESP). ESP offers qualified job seekers temporary paid assignments to provide technical services supporting the National Park Service (NPS) and the nation’s 589 parks and NPS related areas.

SSAI currently administers a portfolio of workforce development programs supporting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Agriculture. The addition of the DOI program will allow SSAI to recruit, screen, and place more than 250 job seekers across its portfolio during the five-year period.

“We are honored to add the Department of the Interior as partner,” said Gary A. Officer, President and CEO of SSAI. “Older workers are a vital component of our nation’s workforce who bring much-needed experience, emotional intelligence, and generational diversity to our workplaces. We applaud our partners for their commitment to inclusive hiring.”

Job seekers accepted into the NPS-ESP program will work 16-40 hours a week on natural resource conservation and infrastructure projects in a variety of capacities ranging from planning and project support to serving as on the ground technical advisors. Applicants must be 55 years old or older and legally eligible to work in the United States.
